Verna May Culley, age 88, left this world to be with her Savior on January 15, 2023. Verna was born in Woodland, California in 1934, to her parents Dorotha and Calvin Abshier. She and her twin, Eugene, were lifelong friends. Verna married Keith Culley, the love of her life on October 9, 1955, in Lake Tahoe. Over their 60 years of marriage they had many adventures through their travels and moves. During this time they had three children, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one yet to come.
Verna was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and a friend to all. Her loving spirit, beautiful smile, and contagious laugh will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Keith Culley. She is survived by her son Richard Culley (Teresa), daughter Susan Wenger (Scott), daughter Nancy Rech (Dean), and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her children as an exceptionally loving mother who always encouraged her family to follow their dreams. “She was the best mom with a heart of gold!” The family is comforted in knowing they will be reunited with her one day.
Her memorial service will be Saturday, January 21st at 11:00 am at Monmouth Christian Church.
