Obituary for Randy Scott Schmidt

Randy Schmidt, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Sunday, March 19th at his home in Dallas. He was born on November 22, 1954 in Dallas, Oregon. He was the son of Al and Martha Schmidt. Randy attended schools in Dallas and graduated from Dallas High School in 1973. Randy owned and operated multiple businesses in Dallas including The Kings Alley, a clothing store on main street, and later, Schmidt Building Designs. Randy designed and drew house plans and was a home builder. Randy moved to Arizona in 1984 and built homes there for several years. While in Arizona he followed spring training and the Oakland A’s where he met his good friend Dave McKay, their first base coach. Their friendship allowed him opportunities to travel and attend the World Series. Randy married Stephanie Briggs on February 27, 1993, at Grace Community Church in Dallas. They have two sons Tanner and Cody. Randy enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, deep sea fishing, and fast cars.

He is survived by his sons, Tanner (MaKenzie), Cody, brother, Tom (Deb) Schmidt and sister, Sallie Bodine. He was preceded in death by his father, Al and his mother, Martha “Pete” Schmidt, and brother in law, Don Bodine.
