Obituary for Priscilla Ruth Tabler

Priscilla Tabler, age 90, of Monmouth Oregon, passed away on October 20, 2023, of natural causes. Priscilla was born on August 30, 1933 in La Grande Oregon, the daughter of Jess and Mildred Parker.

She married her high school sweetheart, Willam “Wayne” Tabler, in Sweet Home, Oregon on June 10, 1951, at the First Methodist Church and began their nearly 70-year marriage. Priscilla entered the work force attending business school then beauty school and practiced as a hairdresser for many years. She completed her B.A. in Education at Oregon College of Education in 1970 and taught school at Parrish Jr. High and McNary High School for many years until retirement.

As the matriarch of the family, Priscilla simultaneously worked full-time, attended college and raised four children. She was deeply devoted to teaching and to the success of her students, many of whom reached out to her years later in appreciation.

She was a voracious reader who loved to travel and spent quality time with friends playing cards. She was just as content at home with family, pets and a glass of champagne.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Mildred Parker, husband Wayne and son David. She is survived by two sisters Jennifer and Jessie Lee, sons Steven and Kevin and daughter Lisa. Additionally, she leaves behind nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Priscilla was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
