DALLAS, OR - Melvin Whitley passed away on February 21, 2023.
Melvin was born in Elk City, OK on February 17, 1936. He grew up in Oceanside, CA before his family settled in Aumsville, OR during his teen years. He served in the Army and then attended OSU. He taught wood shop at Academy Junior High and LaCreole Junior High in Dallas, OR for more than thirty years, from the mid 1960 to the 1990s He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Audrienne Whitley of Dallas, OR. He is survived by his daughter Kristin Barnhart of Portland, OR (son-inlaw Dan Barnhart and their children, Lydia, Jackson and Miranda). He is survived by son Dan Whitley of Sumner, WA (daughter-in-law Aurora and their children Julia and Maya) No services are planned at this time. Bollman's Tribute Center is caring for the family.
