Kenneth Neal "Kenny" Smith died on Thursday March 9th, 2023.
Kenny was born in Iowa City, Iowa on August 8th, 1950, to Charles and Anne (Cooksey) Smith. In 1956, the family moved to Oregon where he graduated from South Salem High School, Class of 1968.

Kenny married Jenean Marie Wick in 1973. She passed away in 1994. He then married Patricia Jo (Price) Iness in June of 1998. She survives him.

After high school, Kenny joined the US Army. He was stationed in South Korea for about a year and was a vehicle operator. Honorably discharged in 1971, he came back to Oregon and moved to Dallas in 1975. He worked for Willamette Industries for about 25 years. After the mill closed, he received his associates degree from Chemeketa. He then went to work for City of Salem, driving for Cherriots. He retired in 2015.

Kenny loved to play his Uncle Pearl's D-28 Martin acoustic guitar, and he later learned to play drums. He joined his brothers' group "The Last Chance Band" and had his rock star dreams come true! He also enjoyed reading, watching old movies, flower gardening and fishing.

Besides his wife Patti, Kenny is survived by his daughters Arwen Melissa Wolf (Jason) of Dallas, OR and Erin Michelle Miotke (Geoffery) of Salem, OR, Stepson Erik Dawson Iness (Nichole) of Salem, OR He is also survived by his brothers, John Smith (Juli) and Martin Smith (Tara) both of Salem, OR, sisters, Janet Crafts of Burns, OR, Joyce Smith-Gonzalez and Ella Smith both of Salem, OR and Cathy Smith-Callison of Newport, OR. He also is survived by his grandchildren Jenean Marie Randall, Kyle William Randall and Riley Jessica Wolf, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anne, brothers Robert Smith, Charles Smith, Russell Smith, and sister Theresa Landers.

Services will be Saturday March 18th, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center 287 SW Washington St Dallas, OR 97338. Following services, Internment for immediate family will be at 2pm, Dallas Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the family.
