Obituary for Kenneth Lee Rolfe

With sadness, we said goodbye to Ken November 21, 2023. He was born February 21, 1932 in Lewiston, Idaho. After the death of his mother at the age of 9, he was raised by his father and older sister, Gloria. An older brother was in the Air Force. His father remarried later to Cleone Reiland and the family moved to Tekoe, WA and later to Grants Pass where Ken went to high school, played baseball, and met Adele, who would someday be his wife. Their senior year they were chosen Gladiola King and Queen. Following graduation, Ken joined the Air Force and he and Adele married. Most of his tour of duty was in Anchorage, AK, where their first child was born and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. After discharge, he attended Compton Junior College, Humboldt State College and San Jose College in California before moving to Oregon with his wife, 2 daughters and a son. Another daughter was born in Oregon.

After a brief stint in real estate in Grants Pass, he took a job with the Oregon State Highway Division, retiring from there 31 years later. Now alone, he met Ann Chamberlain. They married and had a full, happy life of 27 years, RVing, traveling, fishing and golfing. He is survived by his daughters, Sharilyn Watts, Laurie Hoskins, Wendy Evered and son Kenneth M. (Connie).

A service will be held to honor Ken at Willamette National Cemetery on Monday, December 18 at 1:00 PM. Bollman’s Tribute Center is caring for the family. www.BollmansTributeCenter.com
