Obituary for Janice Margaret Ann Marx

Janice Margaret Ann Marx passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2023 at 12:05 a.m. She was surrounded by family and holding her husband Ron's hand. She was born October 8, 1947 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Edward Bauman and Verna (Remmers) Bauman.

Janice was raised on a farm in Nebraska. She moved with her family to Salem, Oregon her freshman year. She graduated from North Salem High School. She met the love of her life Ronald Marx through a blind date set up by friends. Ronald and Janice were married on April 14, 1967.

Ronald and Janice started their family in May 1970 when Ronald Scot Marx came into the world. Then Kami Joene (Marx) Hampton in March 1973, then John Edward Marx in May 1976.

Janice had a zest for life. She was a hardworking woman, from herding cattle with her horse, bucking hay, to driving combine on the farm. She did all the hard stuff in between. She loved going to concerts with her husband Ronald, they saw Cher, Madonna, Blake Shelton, Three Dog night, Alan Jackson, and many many more. She loved living life- Jan and Ron traveled on vacations over the years and saw many places. Her most favorite thing was camping with her family at O'Dell Lake.

Janice was a loving wife and mother. She adored and loved her grandchildren. She loved hosting family gatherings and always made sure everyone's favorite dishes were made. Any time she could spend with her family was her favorite times. She always welcomed anyone with the biggest hug and her sweet little giggle. She was the most caring, kind, compassionate woman and would love you for who you are.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Verna Bauman.

Janice is survived by the love of her life, husband Ronald Marx; Children Scot (Racee) Marx; Kami (Tom) Hampton; John (Amber) Marx; grandchildren Korinna; Kourtney; Trevor; Jamie; Kimber; Rilee and great granddaughter Margo. Siblings Sister Carol Rutherford; Brother Steve (Diane) Bauman; and sister Jane (Steve) Boyes, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Viewing for family and close friends will be Tuesday November 28th from 1-4 at Bollman's Tribute Center.

Services will be held Wednesday November 29th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Bollman's Tribute Center 287 Washington St., Dallas, Oregon. Donations can be sent to the Oregon chapter of the American Cancer Society at PO Box 22770 Portland, OR 97269. Bollman’s Tribute Center is caring for the family.
