Obituary for Alice Sachie Nitta
Alice Sachie Nitta
January 8, 1955 – February 10, 2023
We sadly announce the passing of Alice Sachie Nitta, beloved sister, auntie, grand auntie and friend into heaven. Alice lived most of her life on Maui and moved to Oregon on September 1, 2022. She was a beautiful soul who was loved by so many and Alice had nicknames for everyone. If she didn’t, Alice would say “you’re my buddy”. Alice loved her 60’s music intensely and always requested to hear the Beatles, Monkees, Beach Boys and The Supremes. Whenever there was a party, she was ready to “karaoke” and enjoy her favorite local food that included shrimp. Yes, Alice was a party hound and she later discovered headphones and could listen to her music for hours and sing at the top of her lungs.
Alice is survived by her sister Gale (Roger) Ediger, nephews Jesse (Amber), Ryder and Ty Smith, step nieces Bree (Tony) Cratty and Hailey (Steve) Whittington. She also loved her grandnieces Taylor, Fiona and grandnephew Cameron. Alice missed her beloved foster family on Maui, the Kekona family and was lovingly cared for by her foster family in Oregon. We want to thank all the people who were involved with Alice’s life especially ARC of Maui and Developmental Disabilities Division. Alice’s ashes will return home to Maui and there will be a private gathering at a later date. Aloha ‘oe “Queen” Alice.
